Non-citizen Infrastructures
-
Urban dis/connections
In this project, which I have led since 2019, I examine how infrastructures shape urban participation of non-citizens across four cities - Beirut, Berlin, Jerusalem and London. I argue that, through building, modifying, and maintaining infrastructures, but also through demanding or refusing services, non-citizens forge novel forms of belonging on the local level, adding new dimensions to our understanding of urban citizenship.
